Spring water meters

Hello MLMEPOA members, welcome to spring (winter??) You might have heard we had a big snow (nearly 20″) last week (April 16-17) – a bit inconvenient for getting around (and trash pickup) but we’ll take the extra water, nice to get a good soaking before warmer weather returns. It is time to record our spring 2015 water meter readings (Oct 15 and April 15 are the dates to record between “summer/irrigation” and “winter” seasons). Please enter a reading at your earliest opportunity (or the next time you or someone visiting are able to read the meter). If you haven’t used your well since last October then drop me a note and I can update the April reading with the same number.

Click the “Water Meters” tab on the main page. Water Meters Then enter your name, lot number, and meter reading (including the trailing zero(s) if needed). Then click the “Submit” button.

Thanks everyone, have a great springtime and travel safely!

(Also early reminder, annual meeting & picnic planned for July 25, 2015)

Happy New Year! Jan 2015 – Board meeting Mon. Jan 26

Happy New Year MLMEPOA members and friends! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year’s holiday. We had plenty of snow over the last couple of weeks in December which made for a fun white Christmas and some great skiing and winter activities. Thanks again to Larry and John along with the Cordovas and Wilders for keeping the roads plowed and passable. We are planning to have a board meeting on Monday Jan 26th 7PM (Daly’s house), please let one of the board members know if you’d like to attend.

Aug 2014

Thanks to everyone for a productive annual meeting. We covered a lot of ground as usual but still managed to have a picnic (thanks again to the Daly’s for hosting!) One important note, we passed a resolution to increase dues by $50 per lot to dedicate to road maintenance expenses. We had a “more snow plowing than usual” winter (especially early in the season) and therefore spent a larger percentage of the roads budget over the winter. We are working on a contract for road maintenance and expect to have work done in the next few weeks. Also of note, we adopted a new procedure for collection of unpaid dues, as required by the State of Colorado – attached here: MLMEPOA Collections Procedure . We plan to have our first board meeting with the new members on Mon. Aug 25. Have a wonderful fall season! (I know summer is still here, although school started and I can’t help wishing we had a few more weeks of summer!)

Happy Winter! Board meeting Feb 7, 2014

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and that you are enjoying winter! We’ve had a pretty good amount of snow (a lot in December, then a few weeks dry, then again a couple of big snows here in late Jan/early Feb). The big snowfall will hopefully help replenish the water supplies around the state – fingers crossed that we stay on track for an above average snowpack for the season (!) Of course it has made for some challenging plowing and ice on the roads in spots, a big thanks to the Wilders & Cordovas for all their work to keep things accessible. We are planning to have our next board meeting Friday Feb 7th (Phyllis hosting @ 6:15PM, thanks Phyllis!) to review our budget incl. roads/plowing and discuss our current options for Waupaca/water management.

With nearly everyone reporting well readings this past year (only 1 missing!) we were able to file a report with the state water commissioners of our actual usage very accurately (which helps our situation tremendously in my opinion!) So thanks very much! We’ll try to keep this track record going.

Have a great rest of the winter season and springtime in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

When Bears Attack…

Our dumpsters were over-filled yesterday (lids not closing) and sure enough a bear got into them and did some damage. The lids were bent/damaged along with trash being strewn about of course. The trash company will be out for pickup tomorrow but there will be a large mess to clean up (and extra expenses). Thanks to whoever decided to overfill we’ll all be stuck with the damage and extra costs. Please try to be considerate of everyone in the neighborhood, keep only accepted recycling materials in the special recycling bin, and please make sure the dumpster lids can close and have the bars properly secured. I doubt anyone in our subdivision actually was so inconsiderate – if you see someone unauthorized to use the dumpsters please let us know and we’ll report to police etc. Thanks.

Annual Meeting Aug 3rd 2013

Thank you all for a productive annual meeting. I know it was lengthy (!) but we were able to cover several topics in depth, especially water augmentation, and I am glad to have an opportunity for everyone to hear background information, discuss the issues at hand, and provide feedback. Also special thanks to Paula and Kay for their multi-year service to the board as their terms expire, and thank-you to new board members Molly and Dan (and Larry for continuing!). We will plan on our first meeting with the new board when everyone can reconvene in the next few weeks (likely the last week of August). I will send a reminder to let folks know when we pin down a date. Also special thanks to the dam/water committee members, we will also schedule a follow-up meeting to continue the review/discussion and long-term planning. Respectfully yours,

-Toby
